Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book our celebrant?
I recommend booking as soon as you have a wedding date. Popular dates fill quickly, so it’s best to secure your celebrant early!
What legal documents do we need to get married in Australia?
To legally marry in Australia, you need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding. I help you with this and guide you through all the legal requirements.
You also need Photo ID, Proof of Place of Birth (Birth Certificate or Passport), and in QLD you need a secondary proof of address (rates/rental agreement etc) so I can apply for your Marriage Certificate.
Can we include cultural or personal traditions in our ceremony?
Absolutely! Whether it’s a special ritual, reading, or family tradition, I encourage you to make your ceremony meaningful.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Having a backup plan is always a good idea. Many venues have indoor options, and I’m happy to adapt to whatever happens on the day.
